Harrow St Mary's Colts Section was formed in 1991 to provide future players for the club and to ensure its continued health. Starting with an Under 11's team the section has grown to have teams from U10 to U17 which have all tasted league or cup success over the years and have to date produced 20 players between the ages of 18 and 24 who still play regularly for the club, some of whom now serve on the clubs committee and captain some of our teams.
Our colts section successes, records, and award winners can be accessed by clicking on the options above.
Our dedicated colts committee including our team of 10 qualified coaches continue to strive to improve the quality of our coaching, facilities and opportunities for quality cricket to be played in safe and enjoyable surroundings. We are currently in the process of working towards achieving the Clubmark criteria from Sport England as proof of our high standards of care.
There is also a full list of social events throughout the year and parents are encouraged to get involved and play an active part in the club.

The club is aware of its responsibilities towards its colts but believes that these are a partnership between both colts and their parents. The codes of conduct for Colts , Players and Coaches/Officers therefore set out each parties responsibilities in taking the club forward in the correct manner.
Match Playing Details
Harrow St Mary's play in the North Area section of the Middlesex Colts Association competitions (this comprises the two London Boroughs of Harrow and Hillingdon to keep travelling to a manageable level) and if successful on an area basis go forward to the Middlesex stages of each competition to face the other areas winners. Harrow St Mary's are one of the strongest clubs in the area and in Middlesex as a whole and all of our age groups teams play in the top division of their respective age group league system. Over the years we have won many trophies and had the honour of many of our players going onto represent Middlesex Youth Teams, lists of both of these sets of achievements can be accessed above.
As a club we have a policy of trying to give as many colts as possible match experience and so enter both A & B teams wherever possible. In 2007/2008 we are entering the following teams (the fixtures/results section of this website show's details of all these games, along with latest league tables):
Indoor Leagues (October to March): U-11A & B, U-13A & B, U-15A & B and U-17A & B.
Leagues(April to July): U-10A & B, U-11, U-13A & B, U-15A & B, U-17
Cups: U-11, U-13, U-15, U-17
In addition we also attend the annual U-10's festival in August. We also hold our own Colts week where each of our age groups get the chance to play longer games of 30-40 overs duration in contrast to the usual 20 over games involved in the league and cup.
The last five years have been phenomenally successful for the club and have included our U-13's reaching the national finals three years in a row of the MCC Spirit Of Cricket National Cup finishing 4 th and 7 th respectively and winning the competition in 2006 out of 1600 clubs nationwide.
Training Details
Training and practice sessions for the colts run throughout the year in support of the various competitions entered and this has contributed greatly to the success of the last few years. The year round training enables improvements to be constantly built upon to provide a steady progression of skill learning, fitness work and practice in both net and match situations.
Summer outdoor training runs from April to August each year with the season being rounded off by our annual colts week. Training is held at the club using our two new artificial nets plus two mobile nets and access to 2 cricket squares.
Indoor winter training runs from mid October to the end of March, using Nower Hill High Schools modern sports hall and four indoor nets. Numbers for our indoor coaching have to be restricted to squads of 24 per age group to ensure that training is safe and effective within the confined space and that there is no more than the recommended 6 players in each of the 4 nets. Indoor training is therefore proceeded by a trial if required to decide on the final make-ups of each squad. Details of our coaching practices and outlook are available in the coaching area of this site.
